Eboni Okoro
Founder/CEO
Eboni is a passionate and driven entrepreneur, educator, and advocate dedicated to creating lasting change in her community. As the founder of Goated Nation, she works tirelessly to uplift and empower African American young men.
With over 20 years of experience within Dallas ISD, Eboni has developed a deep understanding of education and the transformative power of community.
Her earlier work as a cofounder of Girl Time, a nonprofit organization designed to empower teenage girls, highlights her lifelong commitment to fostering self-confidence and resilience in the next generation.
Melanie Calhoun
Board Member
Melanie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from the University of Houston. She is a passionate nonprofit professional and Salesforce consultant who specializes in helping organizations leverage technology to solve challenges and maximize their impact. With a deep commitment to social good, Melanie thrives on creating innovative, tailored solutions that enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and elevate the overall mission of nonprofits. Melanie has a true passion for helping others, which has led her to roles where she could directly improve the lives of those in need. Melanie remains deeply committed to her community and serves on multiple nonprofit boards.
David Godsey, Esq.
Board Member
Dave is a trial lawyer. He graduated from Huston-Tillotson University in 1994. He is a faithful member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity.
He is co-owner of Godsey-Martin, P.C., Over the last 16 years, Godsey Martin has become the largest African American owned personal injury law firm in Texas with offices in Dallas and Houston. Their website, IJUSTGOTHIT.COM has become a brand that is synonymous with Justice in the communities they serve.
Dave feels a sense of obligation to give back to the community and has shown this in donating hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships, sponsorships, and learning resources to the communities he serves.

Tedrick Hawkins, Esq.
Board Member
Tedrick Hawkins is a 29 year old corporate defense attorney. He grew up in Tyler Texas, and moved to the Dallas area shortly before starting High School. After graduating from Duncanville High School, he earned a scholarship to Stephen F. Austin State University where he ran track for four years, played football, and pledged Alpha Phi Alpha.
After graduating with his Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice and minoring in business, he went on to attend law school at Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University where he graduated with Honors before starting his career.
Sommer Shepherd
Board Member
Sommer has a passion for community service and mental health advocacy. A graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology, she currently works as a probation officer, guiding individuals toward rehabilitation and positive change. Sommer is furthering her impact by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. A former track athlete at Frisco Heritage High School, she brings determination, discipline, and a strong commitment to supporting her community.
